The solvent features a low freezing point, high boiling point, and low viscosity. It is miscible in any ratio with solvents such as ethanol, acetone, benzene, ether, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It has little to no solubility in water and high molecular weight aliphatic hydrocarbons. DEGDBE is an excellent solvent for a wide range of polar and non-polar substances. Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether is an inert, aprotic solvent. It has wide applicability in various types of cleaning formulations. Examples include grease, wax, and stain removers and special low-flammability non-aqueous cleaning systems for electronic equipment. DEGDBE is used as a solvent for several coatings applications. It is a good coalescing agent with coupling ability. It is also used as solvent for inkjet inks, in formulations of deletion fluids for positive printing plates, retouching agents for lithographic printing and in cleaning agents for removing inks from printing machines. view less |
