Good solvency proprieties make it ideal for making photoinitiator blends. It is the initiator of choice for coating on wood, metal and plastic as well as UV-cured adhesives. Doublecure® 173, when irradiating with UV light, undergoes a homolytic and intramolecular type of breakage to generate a pair of free radicals to initiate the olymerization of UV curable systems. It does not require hydrogen donor to initiate its radicals. However its radicals are very sensitive to oxygen in the air. This product is a light yellow to clear liquid. view less

Good solvency proprieties make it ideal for making photoinitiator blends. It is the initiator of choice for coating on wood, metal and plastic as well as UV-cured adhesives where non-yellowing properties are important. This product, when irradiating with UV light, undergoes both of a homolytic and intramolecular type of breakage to generate a pair of free radicals and a bimolecular hydrogen abstraction reaction to initiate the polymerization of UV curable systems. Its photospeed acting as a photoinitiator is not as fast as Doublecure® 173 for example, but it gives better non-yellowing performance and better surface curing. This product is a light yellow and clear liquid. view less

This pale yellow powder may be used after adequate testing alone or in combination with suitable coinitiators, e.g., Doublecure® 184, for UV curable inks and varnishes for applications on paper, metal and plastic materials. Its high absorptivity makes it especially suitable for pigmented UV-curable systems, photo resists and printing plates. view less

It is suggested to be used in white pigmented formulations, the curing of glass fiber reinforced polyester/styrene systems, and for clearcoats of outdoor use in combinations with light stabilizers. With low concentrations of this white-yellowish powder, it can reach an excellent curing performance in highly opaque white and colored furniture coatings or screen inks containing titanium dioxide or colored pigments, and presents minimum yellowing after exposure to sufficient amounts of UV radiation. In addition, it allows curing of thick sections due to the outstanding absorption. view less

It is an alpha cleavage type photoinitiator, which combines the characteristics of high photospeed and exceptional storage life. Its non-yellowing and low-irritating properties, makes it an ideal choice for clear coatings on paper, flooring, metal, plastics and wood. Doublecure® 184, when irradiating with UV light, undergoes a homolytic and intramolecular type of breakage to generate a pair of free radicals to initiate the polymerization of UV curable systems. It does not require hydrogen donor to initiate its radicals. However, its radicals are very sensitive to oxygen in the air. Doublecure® 184 is strongly recommended when non-yellowing properties are crucial. Results obtained from an outdoor exposure study show that it gives better long-term non-yellowing performance than other initiators. Furthermore, it exhibits lower sensitivity to air inhibition than Doublecure® 173 during curing. view less
