Due to the strong acceleration of the chemical reaction, a reduced pot-life might occur. High addition rates might reduce the gloss. This product improves the drying of chemically curing systems, such as aqueous two-component polyurethane coatings. At the same time, scratch resistance, hardness and mechanical persistence are positively influenced. In higher concentrations Borchers® LH 10 has a matting effect, and therefore should not be used in high gloss formulations. view less

Chemical engineers have come up with numerous uses for castor oil and its derivatives, including coatings, lubricating grease, emulsifiers, polyamide 11 (Nylon 11) engineering plastic, sealants, inks, and more. Industrial Castor Oil has a specific gravity of 0.957 to 0.961 at 25°C, an iodine value of 83 to 88, and a hydroxyl value of 160 to 168. view less

It is used in plastics, textiles, and in a number of inks and industrial adhesives, where the oil is used as a drying oil in the paints, inks, and varnishes. Castor oil is popular due to the fact that its plentiful chemical derivatives are a "renewable sources, bio-degradable and eco-friendly." Castor Oil U.S.P. has a specific gravity between the ranges of 0.957 to 0.961 at 25°C and a saponification value of 176 to 182. view less
