Extremosio™ consists of plurilamellar liposomes loaded with trehalose, a natural disaccharide that activates autophagy. Skin autophagy is a naturally occurring detoxification process through which damaged cellular constituents are degraded and continuously renewed. With age the flow of autophagy renewal slows down. Its activation by Extremosio™ promotes replacement of damaged skin proteins. In addition, the renewal of melanosomes promotes a homogeneous skin color distribution.
