X-Pand'r® Snack Starches plays an important role for dough binding, machinability and texture development in bakery and snack applications. X-Pand'r® Snack Starches are instant, waxy maize starches which are designed to deliver a wide range of textures in sheeted, formed, and extruded snacks. This product is a white bland powder. X-Pand'r® Snack Starches are typically blended with other dry ingredients of snack formulations before fat and water addition. For sheeted snacks, the dough is subjected to multiple reductions through a series of sheeter rolls to form a thin and cohesive dough sheet. X-Pand'r® is identified as “Food Starch-Modified” as defined in Title 21 CFR 172.892.
