It is usually applied on infected wounds, aphthae and torpid ulcers.
Sage Extract performs antimicrobial activity, antioxidant activity, anti-secretory, anti-perspirant activity, anti-inflammatory activity, activity on hair and astringent activity. The antimicrobial activity is mainly due to the thujones in the essential oil. Externally applied thujones seem to have antihydrotic activity, since they block the nerve terminals in sweat glands. Sage leaves also have a well-known antioxidant activity based on their phenolic compounds content.
Sage Extract H.GL.-M.S. may be formulated into tonic, deodorant, purifying, reactivating, anti-perspirant and anti-dandruff products up to 1% dry extract and up to 5% glycolic and fluid extracts when used in stimulating and purifying hair lotions, tooth pastes, greasy and opaque skin products, deodorants and anti-perspirants. Rosemary-Eco is a standardized extract obtained in a medium of Glycerin / Water (50:50) from the leaves of "Rosmarinus officinalis L.", proceeding from organic crop. It contains a minimum of 200 ppm of Rosmarinic Acid. Rosemary contains Flavonoids: heterosides of luteolol, diosmetol and methoxylated flavones in C-6 and/or C-7; phenolic acids (2-3%), especially caffeic derivatives: caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid and rosmarinic acid. Rosemary also contains tricyclic diterpenes and 1.0-2.5% essential oil.
Rosemary extract has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial activities. The anti-oxidant activity of this product is due to the anti-radical activity of diterpenes. The antioxidant action is partially attributed to the high rosmarinic acid content of these plants. The anti-inflammatory activity is also due to the Rosmarinic acid in Rosemary extract. For all these reasons, the extract of rosemary-eco is of great utility when formulating cosmetic products aimed at preserving the integrity of the skin and hair from oxidative processes and products for sensitive or irritated skin.
