Bayhydrol® UH 650 is a solvent-free, aliphatic polyurethane resin dispersion in water that can be used as a binder for waterborne, air- and oven-drying base coats in two-coat systems for the coating of plastics, and as a combination binder for soft-touch coatings. This product has an Efflux time at 23°C, (4mmcup) of 12-30, a non-volatile content (1g / 1h / 125°C) of 48-52, and a pH value of 6-8.
When used in two-layer systems with two-component polyurethane clearcoats, metallic basecoats formulated with Bayhydrol® UH 650 are characterized by good adhesion to many types of plastics, good overcoatability and good water resistance. The metallic basecoat can be oversprayed with a two-component polyurethane clearcoat after predrying e.g. for 5 min at an ambient temperature of 80°C or for 15 min at room temperature.
