It is a blend of strontium and zinc phosphosilicates. It is recommended for solvent-based epoxies, epoxy esters, polyurethanes, short-, medium- & long oil alkyds (both traditional and high solids), polyesters, and silicones. It is suitable for water-based epoxies, polyurethanes, polyurethane dispersions, water-reducible alkyds, alkyd dispersions, chlorinated polymers, and acrylics. It is designed for use in high acid value resins, latexes, catalyzed baking systems, and vinylidene chloride latexes. The fine particle size and low oil absorption of HALOX® SZP-391 make it the pigment of choice in thin film applications (<1 mil or 25 microns). The dosage level is 2-5% based on total formula weight in many water-based systems and 3-7% based on total formula weight in traditional solvent-based coatings. It has a shelf life of 36 months. view less Request Sample

It can boost the adhesion of the systems through the development of a sol-gel network and the formation of hydrophobic nano-domains within the coating. It is suitable for clear coats, direct-to-metal, latex primers, thin film coatings, acrylic emulsions, water-dispersible alkyds, alkyd emulsions, polyesters, epoxy, urethane, and high gloss coatings. It is easy to disperse, post-addable, and reduces white rust on galvanized and black rust on Galvalume™. It offers increased hydrophobicity, improved anti-fingerprint, and no effect on gloss. It provides reduced silver, aluminum oxidation and high-temperature stability. HALOX® 550 is non-flammable, pH stable, and has a low freeze point. It is a temporary rust inhibitor for cold-rolled steel, blasted steel, and aluminum. It can impart corrosion resistance to final metal rinsing solutions. The dosage level for water-based acrylic is 1-4%, alkyd is 0.5-2%, epoxy is 1-4%, urethane is 0.5-3%, hybrids & others is 0.5-4%. It has a shelf life of 12 months. view less Request Sample
