LIGHTOCEANE® is a patented marine agent prepared from the alga Halidrys siliquosa with multi-targeted strategy to lighten the skin and fight skin aging. It offers clever mechanism of actions at several levels of the melanogenesis cascade. The brown seaweed Halidrys siliquosa is known for its special chemical composition in oligomers of phloroglucinol and secondary metabolites offering interesting biological properties. LIGHTOCEANE® can successfully down-regulate skin pigmentation by several ways of action. Before melanin synthesis, it reduces the release of nitric oxide, an important melanogenic mediator. During melanin synthesis, it inhibits the activity of tyrosinase and the synthesis of melanin. After melanin synthesis, it inhibits the dendricity of melanocytes and controls the transfert of melanosomes to keratinocytes. In addition, LIGHTOCEANE® shows antioxidant and protective activities against both UVB and UVA radiations. It also offers complementary benefits linked to the prevention of skin aging such as anti-inflammatory, anti-elastase, anti-collagenase, and anti-hyaluronidase properties. All that make this product very attractive due to its particular strategy for anti-aging skin care and lightening gels and emulsions.
