HerbCFL® Capsaicin is an extract of the pungent component of red chilli, capsaicin (C18H27NO3). This substance is the major component in many medical formulations used to treat ailments causing severe pain. It is also used in self-protection aids such as pepper sprays to temporarily immobilize the attacker without causing physical damage or injury.
Capsaicin may be applied as a topical ointment to relieve minor aches and pains of muscles and joints. Research suggests it is able to kill prostate cancer cells and may be effective against lung cancer. It can also be used for non-lethal force as a pepper spray, pest deterrent and as an anti-foulant to protect submerged surfaces such as the hulls of boats.
