The novel blend of Caprylhydroxamic Acid with Methylheptylglycerin, a non-silicone anti-soaping agent, creates a ready-to-use combination that effectively controls bacteria, yeast, and mold over a broad pH range from pH 4 – 8 with a typical use level of 0.5 – 2.0% (w/w). Spectrastat™ PG is a multi-functional agent that provides antimicrobial control in cosmetic and personal care products. Spectrastat™ PG contains no biocides or traditional preservatives. It creates a fungistatic environment that prevents growth of microorganisms. It is primarily effective against yeast & mold and can be combined with a bacteria control agent, like Lexgard Natural GC88 MB (Glyceryl Caprylate) or Lexgard® O (Caprylyl Glycol) for broad spectrum protection. Spectrastat™ PG is effective over a broad pH range from pH 4 - 8 with a typical use level of 1.0 - 2.0% (w/w). Spectrastat™ PG is cold processable and water soluble and can be used in emulsion, anhydrous, and surfactant systems. These include creams, lotions, shower gels, and color cosmetics.
