Alkamuls® EGDS 504/V has a diester content of about 96%. It is widely used in shampoo and bath applications to modify the appearance of the finished products, by imparting a high degree of opacity and pearl luster under appropriate process conditions. Additionally, it is an excellent emollient for use in all bath, cream and lotion preparations.
Alkamuls® EGDS 504/V is introduced to a personal care preparation by melting it in-situ at 70–75°C with good agitation until it is completely melted and well mixed in the preparation. The preparation is then cooled gradually with moderate agitation until opacity and/or pearlescence develops. The cooling process must be controlled in order to assure batch to batch consistency in finished product appearance and properties. view less
