The acid group promotes water dispersability of the resin after neutralisation with a base or can improve adhesion to difficult substrates. This product has a melting point (DSC) of 59.3°C, a non-volatile content of 99% wt. min., a viscosity @ 60°C of 800-1000cP, and an acid equivalent weight of 935-1122g/eqv. Since no DMPA is required to formulate water dispersible pre-polymers, NMP may be reduced or eliminated from the formulations. Pre-polymers formulated with DICAP® products have very good solubility in monomers for hybrid applications and in acetone for solvent-free PUDs.
