Acerola Cherries

Acerola Cherries appear as a berry fruit with a green to red skin, depending on when in the harvest process it has been picked. The flesh is a white pulp, having a pleasant to slightly bitter taste. Due to the perishability acerola is processed to become fruit puree or concentrate immediately after having been harvested, at which the same are traded deep-frozen only. It is used in other fruit juices, beverages, ice cream, and preserves.
