SEA HEATHER®

  • Company:

    Gelyma

  • INCI Name:

    Water (and) Cystoseira Amentacea/Caespitosa/Branchycarpa Extract

SEA HEATHER® is a marine agent that works through the both pathways of the lipid peroxidation: the non enzymatic pathway linked to the action of reactive oxygen species and the enzymatic pathway related to anti inflammation activity. SEA HEATHER® is a patented mixture of several typical brown Mediterranean seaweeds belonging to the order Cystoseira forming dense populations grouped into large belts at wave-exposed places and unpolluted areas. It acts as an efficient radical scavenger through the both pathways of the lipid peroxidation with action on the non enzymatic pathway related to cellular lysis due to several major reactive oxygen species and action on the enzymatic pathway linked to anti inflammation activity. In addition SEA HEATHER® protects DNA against superoxide anion and hydrogen peroxide and guarantees full cell membrane functionality after chemical irritation. Clinical studies confirm the reduction of stinging sensations. This makes SEA HEATHER® an excellent ingredient recommended for products to reduce irritation and improve the comfort of reactive and sensitive skins. It is China compliant
