It is primarily used in water-based yellow traffic paints (Cowles Blade dispersible) and tapes. Pigments of this chemistry demonstrate good rheological properties but fastness to overpainting and all non-aliphatic solvents is poor. In addition, they bloom heavily in baking systems and have relatively poor heat stability. To note is that they often exhibit poor crystal stability in the presence of organic solvents, indicated by a distinct red shade shift, loss of brightness and strength reduction.
