ETHOXCARE® HVB is an ideal thickener for hard-to-thicken systems—such as Sulfate-Free surfactant systems—as well as conventional surfactants. Another advantage of ETHOXCARE® HVB over other structurally-similar materials, is solubility. For example, ETHOXCARE® HVB at 10% in water alone is a clear solution. Above 1%, even in surfactants, PEG-150 distearate tends to be insoluble, resulting in opacity and instability. This means that compared to other thickeners, ETHOXCARE® HVB can be used at higher levels, while maintaining clarity, to create novel forms with unique aesthetics and performance, with greater stability. ETHOXCARE® HVB is an effective replacement for amides, is highly effective in building viscosity, and helps stabilize foam volume. It is a highly efficient, cost effective thickener & rheology enhancement in surfactant systems including non-sulfate and sulfate systems. It functions as a replacement for amides helping increase foam stability as well as viscosity. ETHOXCARE® P 6000 DS SP yields a viscosity twice that with PEG-150 Distearate and more than 6X that with PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate.
