EcoGard™ CPO (Ciclopirox Olamine) is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent of the hydroxypyridone class also with significant antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. By mainly affecting iron-dependent enzyme systems and cytoplasmic membranes, it inhibits the growth of pathogenic dermatophytes, moulds and yeasts, including Malassezia furfur which is associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
