It is much more stable to heat and light than ascorbic acid without the problem of color change. It exhibits a strong tyrosinase inhibiting activity in preventing melanin formation. It is also a free radical scavenger and once absorbed into skin it can remove signs of wrinkles and aging. Recent studies found it can promote hair growth especially in combination with MSM.
