It provides sufficient play time in color-cosmetics applications, thereby improving rub-in properties, reducing stickiness, and imparting lubricity and a smooth skin feel. Due to their flexible polymer backbone, dimethicones have high permeability to gases (e.g. water vapor, oxygen), which allows respiration of the skin. BELSIL® DM 5 is widely used in a highly varied range of personal care formulations. Formulations with BELSIL® DM 5 have better spreading properties and can be easily distributed on the skin.
