Castor Oil U.S.P.

Castor Oil U.S.P. is pale-colored oil extracted from castor oil beans, which are the seeds of Ricinus Communis Linné, with a slightly characteristic aroma. It is used in plastics, textiles, and in a number of inks and industrial adhesives, where the oil is used as a drying oil in the paints, inks, and varnishes. Castor oil is popular due to the fact that its plentiful chemical derivatives are a "renewable sources, bio-degradable and eco-friendly." Castor Oil U.S.P. has a specific gravity between the ranges of 0.957 to 0.961 at 25°C and a saponification value of 176 to 182.
