NPG, Neol® Neopentylglycol

NPG, Neol® Neopentylglycol is a versatile building block for polyesters for solvent-borne paints. It is used in stoving enamels for automotive coatings, can and coil-coatings and for general industry applications. It is used for two-component paints for plastic coatings and for repair coatings. Neopentyl-glycol is used for water borne polyesters for automotive coatings, repair coatings and coatings for general industry. It is also used for polyesters for powder coatings.

Neopentylglycol shows high reactivity for esterification and trans-esterification. Neopentylglycol introduces solubility and compatibility into polyester molecules, avoiding crystallinity. NNeopentylglycol offers high chemical, thermal and UV resistance. Polyesters show good hardness and excellent weather resistance.
