K-FLEX® 850S is optimized for performance, compatibility, and economy in waterborne latex applications. It is a very effective for waterborne adhesives, as well as hot melt adhesives and putty. With FDA approvals for direct food contact, it is a viable option for food packaging adhesives. In both VAE an PVAc emulsions, K-FLEX 850S provides excellent performance properties, such as wet tack, extended open times, chalk point/Tg suppression, reduced set times, and strong viscosity response of the base emulsion to the plasticizer (demonstrating compatibility and allowing flexibility). K-FLEX® 975P is economical to use and designed to offer a broad range of compatibility with polar polymers, with improved handling due to its lower freeze point. It improves elastomeric and adhesion characteristics, demonstrating strong viscosity response of the base emulsion to the plasticizer (demonstrating compatibility and allowing flexibility). It also improves wet tack, suppresses Tg, extends open times, and reduces set times in adhesives. Emerald Kalama Chemical was acquired by LANXESS in 2021. view less
K-FLEX® DP is a non-phthalate, dibenzoate plasticizer, which achieves excellent performance and compatibility in waterborne adhesives, latex caulks, and reactive sealants, including acrylic, VAE, PVAc, STPE, and STPU types chemistries, food contact adhesi...view more
K-FLEX® DP is a non-phthalate, dibenzoate plasticizer, which achieves excellent performance and compatibility in waterborne adhesives, latex caulks, and reactive sealants, including acrylic, VAE, PVAc, STPE, and STPU types chemistries, food contact adhesives, and pressure sensitive adhesives. Benefits include good flexibility, viscosity response, and adhesion (even to challenging substrates), extended open times, reduced set times, improved wet tack, and enhanced weatherability. In adhesives applications, such as putty and water-based latex adhesives, K-FLEX DP is an effective, low-VOC choice. It also offers easier handling due to its extremely low freeze point. K-FLEX® PG is a non-phthalate, dibenzoate plasticizer, which achieves excellent performance and compatibility in waterborne adhesives, latex caulks, and reactive sealants, including acrylic, VAE, PVAc, STPE, and STPU types chemistries, food contact adhesives, and pressure sensitive adhesives. Benefits include good flexibility, viscosity response, and adhesion (even to challenging substrates), extended open times, reduced set times, improved wet tack, and enhanced weatherability. K-FLEX PG offers an excellent chemistry and regulatory profile and has no GHS label requirements in the U.S. and Europe. Like K-FLEX DP, K-FLEX PG has an extremely low freeze point, which results in easier handling. However, K-FLEX PG offers improved economy. It can be used at higher loading levels in waterborne adhesives without degrading performance. Ask LANXESS for more information about this product’s applicability to EU Ecolabel claims.
