It is applied directly to metals (iron alloy, galvanized steel, phosphate steel, stainless steel, and aluminum). It converts the metal hydroxide surface into a stable, inert covalently bound monolayer. It is used as a replacement for chromium-based primers on aluminum and other metals. It can be used as a conversion primer for a coating system based on an epoxy coating and polyurethane topcoat. It may omit toxic chemicals and functions as a replacement for Cr3+ and Cr6+-based systems used in metal plating and aerospace industries. EXOCOAT® ACX-W is applied with conventional low-pressure and high-pressure airless and air-mix spraying, dipping, rolling and brushing. It has a shelf life of 12 months. view less | |
