NANOBYK®-3650

NANOBYK®-3650 is a surface additive containing nanomaterials for solvent-borne systems to improve scratch resistance. This product is a dispersion of surface treated silica nanoparticles. It provides optimum surface protection by an immediate reflow effect. This effect ensures that the coating surface is not damaged and remains nearly unharmed because the silica nanoparticles of these additives are uniformly distributed within the coating and work as a shock-absorbing system. Their interaction absorbes the impacting energy and releases it slowly. Along with this elasticity comes a consistent hardness of the film, and both give optimal long-term protection.

Company

BYK has an established history of innovation such as being the first additive manufacturer to begin using Controlled Polymerization Technology (CPT), launching the first rheology-modified wax emulsion, and being one of the first companies to use nanotechnology for improving Coatings properties. BYK invests approximately 7.5% of its earnings in R&D—three times more than the industry average.
