BYK®-313

BYK®-313 is a solution of a polyester-modified polydimethylsiloxane. is a strong, highly compatible silicone for solvent-borne and baking coating systems with the following properties: strong reduction of surface tension, very good anti-cratering properties, improves substrate wetting, improves flow and leveling of solvent-borne systems, very effective at low film thickness, increases gloss, strong increase of surface slip, FDA § 175.300 compliant, BYK-313 is a heat-resistant silicone due to the polyester modification, in baking systems, no loss in adhesion and no surface defects occur, no thermal decomposition at temperatures between 150°C and 230°C like polyether-modified silicones do, HAPS and aromatic-free.

Company

BYK has an established history of innovation such as being the first additive manufacturer to begin using Controlled Polymerization Technology (CPT), launching the first rheology-modified wax emulsion, and being one of the first companies to use nanotechnology for improving Coatings properties. BYK invests approximately 7.5% of its earnings in R&D—three times more than the industry average.
