Dispersogen® PCE is a modified polycarboxylate used for dispersing inorganic pigments. This product is composed of carboxylic acid groups on the principle polymer chain and polyethylene glycol ether side chains. The anionic charges on the principle chain absorb onto the inorganic pigments and provide steric stabilization due to the polyethylene glycol ether side chains. This mechanism is sometimes superior to the electrostatic stabilization of polyacrylic acid salts or copolymers of acrylic acid and maleic acid resulting in higher dispersion stability.
