Water-borne Vinyl Acrylic Dispersion Primer (Formulation #3.2)

Water-borne Vinyl Acrylic Dispersion Primer (Formulation #3.2) is a guideline formulation offered to show reduced blistering and wet dispersion loss at the scribe compared to a control bank. Haloflex 202 is a water thinnable vinyl-acrylic dispersion with an acidic pH. The addition of Alcophor 827 is beneficial in two respects: the pH is stabilised at 6.5 which would otherwise be buffered by SHIELDEX® anti-corrosive pigments, and it also improves the corrosion resistanceafter hot salt spray and humidity exposure. The addition level of SHIELDEX® anti-corrosive pigments should not exceed 3 wt.-% to ensure that the pH of the final formulation does not exceed 7.
