Unfortunately these ingredients can migrate to the paint surface leaving visible streaks referred to as “Surfactant Leaching/Staining” or “Snail Trails”. Staining typically occurs after the paint has been exposed to specific conditions such as high humidity and water condensation. The presence of water on a paint surface can concentrate leachable materials into a non-uniform pattern of visible glossy streaks. A careful selection of formulation ingredients can help reduce the extent of staining. view less
