With cationic surfactants, water-insoluble neutral salts are formed. Hostapal® BV conc. is resistant to caustic soda and water hardness. It acts as a lime soap dispersant and has high dispersing power for water-insoluble substances. In mineral acid solutions at elevated temperatures, Hostapal® BV conc. like all ether sulfates tends to hydrolyse. Hostapal® BV conc. is used as an emulsifier in the polymerization of the following monomers: vinyl acetate together with other vinyl esters, acrylates, vinyl chloride and ethylene; for acrylic and styrene / acrylic dispersions; for butadiene / styrene latex.
