It is composed of solutions of high molecular weight block copolymers with pigment affinic groups. This product is used in many formulations. For new developments, however, the additives DISPERBYK® 2164 and DISPERBYK®2163 (see Data Sheet W235) should be preferred. DISPERBYK® 163 has an even lower molecular weight than DISPERBYK-162, is less polar and is used primarily in general industrial coatings and to produce pigment concentrates. It has a wider compatibility in various binder types than DISPERBYK® 161 and DISPERBYK® 162.
