Acronal S760 is a self cross-linking styrene-acrylic dispersion which can be cured at room temperature by the addition of acid catalysts. Pre-neutralisation of Cycat 500 and phosphoric acid with AMP 95 and ammonia is necessary to ensure paint stability. The addition of AMP 95 also helps to heat stabilise the paint during milling. Higher PVC-values reduce the salt spray performance, and values around 20 to 30 vol.-% are suggested. Alternative fillers such as talcs, calcium carbonates (Millicarb B from Omya) or dolomites (Microdol extra from Norwegian Talcs) or combinations thereof can be used satisfactorily. view less

It works within minutes on coating application and forms a black iron oxide barrier which can further be top-coated with water or solvent-based paints. It is suitable for medium oil alkyds, cationic 1K epoxies, and cationic 1K acrylics. It can be used in slightly acidic waterborne vinyl or PVDC binders applied to rusted steel substrates. It shows a stable freeze cycle. It does not contain tannic acid, oxime chelates, phosphates, or phosphoric acid. The dosage level is 3-6% for water-based coatings and 7-10% for solvent-based coatings as supplied on total formula weight. The shelf life of HALOX® RC-980 is 1 year. view less Request Sample

Dynapol L205 and Dynapol L208 are high molecular weight polyester resins widely used in coil coating primer applications for both building and domestic appliance applications. Cymel 350 is a typical melamine based crosslinker. The cure reponse within this formulation was controlled by the use of Silane A187 (Silane Ester), Epoxy blocked Phosphoric acid (co-catalyst), EDBSA (sulphonic acid co-catalyst) and Halox 650 (Dicarboxylic acid). Epikote 1007 and E...view more Epoxy Coil Coating Primer (Formulation #2.2) is a formulation that utilizes SHIELDEX® C 303, a high performance non toxic heavy metal free, anti-corrosive pigment specially designed to replace Strontium Chromate in coil coating primers. Epikote 1007 and Epikote 1009 are standard epoxy resins used in coil coating primer applications. UFR 80 is a typical urea based crosslinker used in these applications. The cure response within this formulation was controlled by the use of Epoxy blocked Phosphoric acid (co-catalyst) and Halox 650 (dicarboxylic-acid co-catalyst). These components prevent the interaction of SHIELDEX® anti-corrosive pigment with the acid catalysts and any acid funtionality on the resin systems, thus ensuring maximum cure response. The SHIELDEX® C 303 anti-corrosive pigment containing epoxy coil primer was applied on Bonder 1303 (ex Chemetall) and Granodine C 108 (ex Henkel) treated galvanised steel test panels. The primer was applied by bar coater to a dry film thickness of 5 – 7 microns. Cure was to a peak metal temperature (PMT) of 216 – 224 °C. A polyester-melamine topcoat was applied to a bar coated dry film thickness of 20 – 25 microns and cured to a PMT of 232 – 241 °C. view less
