Vanillin 

Vanillin - also referred to as 3-Methoxy-4-Hydroxybenzaldehyde - is a white to slightly yellow, needle-like crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C8H8O3. It is certified FCC IV and Kosher. It is an artificial or synthetic vanilla flavorant. This product is commonly used as a substitute for vanilla extract in ice cream, desserts, baked goods, and beverages.
