Acesulfame Potassium (Acesulfame K) is a synthesized, non-nutritive sweetener with 200 times the sweetness of sugar. It has a wealth of food applications as a tabletop sweetener and an addition to candies, baked goods, frozen desserts, beverages, and chewing gum. Because Acesulfame K is calorie-free, it is widely used in low-calorie and reduced-sugar foods.
