This...view more Bisomer® BZMA (Benzyl Methacrylate) is low viscosity mono-functional monomer suitable for a wide range of applications. It is low viscosity and hydrophobic, and is particularly suitable as a reactive diluent in adhesives, sealants, inks and coatings. This product has a methoxyhydroquinone content of 50 ± 5ppm, an acid number of < 0.02mg KOH/g, and a refractive index @ 20°C of 1.51. It can be used as a co-monomer in PMMA based acrylic formulations to increase the impact resistance, hydrophobicity and structural integrity of resins, composites and coatings. It is also particularly useful as a replacement for styrene in unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins used in a wide range of applications including chemical fixings and composites. Due to its high refractive index, Bisomer® BZMA is also suitable for cast lenses, optical fibres, transparent laminates and other applications where clarity is a key requirement. view less

It is an excellent low shrinkage reactive diluent for UV systems based on urethane acrylates and vinyl esters (epoxy acrylates). This product has an acid numer of < 0.3mg KOH/g, a saponification value of 126-138mg KOH/g, a volatile components pf 0.5% max., and a molecular weight of 420g/mol. Bisomer® PPA6 has a low Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) and offers excellent plasticising properties when incorporated into polymers, including emulsion polymers. This product is ideal in the preparation of UV oligomers, emulsion polymers, printing inks and polyurethane dispersions (PUDs). It is a source of acid functionality for water-borne applications, is a co-resin to improve pigment wetting, dispersing and stabilizing.
