PELEMOL® 3G22 is a 100% active, solid, all vegetable derived monoester of behenic acid and polyglycerin-3. As such, each molecule contains four unreacted, free hydroxyl groups at one end and one long C22 alkyl moiety as a behenate ester at the other end.
The four free hydroxyl groups provide considerable hydrophilicity and the long behenyl alkyl hydrophobic chain enables the molecule to function as a non-alkylene oxide containing emulsifier.
PELEMOL® 3G22 is actually self-emulsifying. Ten percent PELEMOL® 3G22 in water forms a lotion-like stable w/o emulsion while 50% in water results in a cream-like stable w/o emulsion.
