Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid, or sodium hyaluronate, is a polysaccharide composed of long chains of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine alternating with glucuronic acid. In our skin, it stabilizes the intercellular space in the dermis and contributes significantly to activities essential to skin health. Because of its tremendous capacity to hold water, adding this active to your creams, lotions, gels or serums will help keep skin moisturized. The high molecular weight hyaluronic acid will form a thick clear gel in plain water, but will lose viscosity when heated. Recommended use - up to 1.5%, with thick gels formed at 1.0%.
