Ashland™ 980 Carbomer is a cross-linked polymer of acrylic acid that is a useful thickening, stabilizing, and suspending agent. It is used in a wide variety of cosmetic and toiletry applications. This product is typically used as a stabilizing agent in oil-in-water emulsions, as a suspending agent in shampoos and other surfactant systems, as a thickening agent in hair gels, and as a rheology modifier in hand sanitizers. It is odorless and forms a crystal clear gel.
