Ashland™ 940 Carbomer is a cross-linked polymer of acrylic acid that is a useful thickening, stabilizing, and suspending agent. It is used in a wide variety of cosmetic and toiletry applications. Typical uses of this product are as a stabilizing polymer in oil-in-water emulsions, as a suspending agent in shampoos and other surfactant systems, and as a thickening agent in hair gels. It is an odorless and forms and a crystal clear gel.
