DMDM Hydantoin (Salidant DMH) is preservative with broad spectrum activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria, yeasts and mould. This clear, colorless liquid is freely soluble in water and is very effective in detergent based formulations as it has some inherent antimicrobial activity. It is most effective in the pH range of 3-8. Although it is ideal for bulk surfactants, it can also be used in hair care applications, skin care preparations and most aqueous based products.
