NS Boost is a ceramic-like platelet of Mica and Silica that boosts the effectiveness of sunscreens by as much as 35% depending on formulations. Due to it's particulate shape NS Boost effectively coats the skin and helps to spread sunscreens evenly, which minimizes the "holes" that are created when sunscreens are unevenly spread on skin. NS Boost helps to quench excited electrons produced when UV light comes in contact with particulate (ZnO, TiO2) or organic sunscreens. NS Boost does not affect the absorption range of sunscreens, so UVA and UVB sunscreens will absorb in the intended range but with higher absorption. This allows for use of lower levels of sunscreens, which will decrease whitening in Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide systems. view less
