This compound is also less allergenic than lanolin. It provides also great lubricity to emulsions or ointments. In emulsions it is very effective in moisture retention due to the efficacy of its the barrier function. In soaps the product provides great plasticity, reducing problems of cracking. HIDROXILAN is a natural derivate of lanolin, provides interesting properties in viscous or fluids creams as co-emulsifier, imparting an efficient texture. It is a very good dispersing agent for pigments and very suitable to formulate anhydrous lipsticks and bars; it is also very appropriate to provide adhesion and plasticity. Due to its nonionic character may be incorporated in anionic, cationic and nonionic emulsions contributing effectively to improve the emolliency.
