They are used extensively as disintegrants in laundry and dishwashing detergent tablets, taking advantage of their high swell volumes. The cross-linked PVPP homopolymers are highly hydrophilic and will rapidly absorb water on contact to swell and create internal stress points that will break up tablets. voir moins
