It is commonly used as the filmforming component in glass fiber sizing, and is useful for the sizing of glass fibers used to reinforce thermoplastics, especially polyamide. Glass fiber sizes based on Baybond® PU 130 have excellent filmforming properties and adhesion. This product also exhibits very good colorfastness at high temperatures and is also highly resistant to hydrolysis. Full mechanical properties of Baybond® PU 130 are developed by post-crosslinking for 20 minutes @ 170C. As with any product, use of Baybond® PU 130 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability. voir moins

It may be used in the formulation of aqueous UV-curing coatings, especially for applica- tion on wood/wood materials. Generally speaking, the coated surfaces can be sanded before UV curing. Additions of 1.0 to 2.5% by weight photoinitiator, calculated on the solid binder, have proved suitable for initiating the curing reaction. voir moins
