INEOS Oligomers is a leading global supplier of polybutene (polyisobutene , polyisobutylene, PB, PIB), manufactured for over 70 years under the trade name Indopol®. In many caulks, sealants, pressure-sensitive, hot-melt and hot-melt pressure sensitive adhesives, Indopol PIBs plasticize, tackify and extend many base elastomers, resulting in softer, more easily extruded products. They have multiple FDA approvals and are safe for use in skin (contact or adhesive) applications. Indopol PIBs can contribute desirable properties and performance benefits over mineral/process oils or when used as partial replacements for drying oils and/or solvents.
