KBE-9007, 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane, is a di-functional silane coupling agent that imparts improved performance to many diverse systems (elastomers, resins, composites, etc.) and applications (primers, paints, coatings, sealants, molded parts, etc.). The isocyanato group readily reacts with several common organic functional groups such as hydroxyl, carboxyl, amino, and mercapto. The three hydrolytically sensitive ethoxy groups not only react with water but also form strong covalent bonds to a wide variety of inorganic and metallic surfaces. As a result, KBE-9007 is a useful modifier for many different materials, providing excellent adhesion to different surfaces (glass, glass fibers, ceramics, silicas, metals, composites, etc.), moisture-sensitive crosslinking capabilities, and other improved physical properties as well.
