About LANXESS
LANXESS F&F is a leading manufacturer for high purity ingredients for global home and personal care brands, created following the acquisition of Emerald Kalama Chemical. Our goal is to turn today’s consumer wellness trends into your market advantage, including a trusted portfolio of effective preservatives, multifunctionals, and aromatics that make products more sustainable and consumer friendly.
Consumer-Friendly Preservation
Consumer products such as cleaners, detergents, and laundry care play a critical role to keep our homes clean and healthy. Robust preservation prevents microbes from growing in these products and their components. Otherwise, bacteria and fungi could grow uncontrolled, threatening our health, causing products spoilage before products can reach store shelves, and preventing them from performing as they should.
At the same time, modern products must also be sustainable, with gentler formulations, eco-friendly packaging, and a natural profile. Traditional approaches to preservation may fall short of achieving effective preservation in modern formulations, as the bioburden, ingredient interactions, water activity, reusable packaging, and other considerations push the preservative package past its limits.
Preservation must be considered at all points of a household product’s lifecycle — sourcing raw materials, formulation, transportation, storage, use, and finally to disposal. This webinar will discuss unique considerations to ensure that HI&I products are properly preserved throughout their lifespan, while also meeting requirements for sustainability, labeling, and specific formulation considerations.
