In June 2019, NY state passed legislation to limit the presence of 1,4 dioxane to 10 ppm in cosmetic products, and 2 ppm in household cleaning and personal care products that are sold in the state by December 31, 2022. The legislation limits trace concentrations in household cleaning and personal care products above 1 ppm by December 31, 2023.
California has begun assessing 1,4 Dioxane in HC and PC product(s) through the Safer Consumer Products program; while they are currently in the info gathering process, it is estimated to be completed in ~3 years.
Join Seth Erdner, BASF Home Care Business Director, Farheen Qadir, BASF Personal Care Business Director, Stephanie Webb, BASF Director of Product Management and Standard Surfactants, and Jeff Brown, BASF Regulatory Specialist, for a deep dive into the impending 1,4 dioxane regulations and what they mean for your business. Our panel will share best practices on communicating changes around ingredients, the implications of 1,4 Dioxane limits on finished formulations, and proactive steps taken by BASF to support customers in meeting new requirements ahead of legislation deadlines.
