Product Availability Product Description
Tefzel® 207 Asia Pacific
Tefzel ™ ETFE 207 is a special-purpose fluoroplastic resin available in translucent, 2.5-mm (0.1-in) pellets. Compared with other grades of Tefzel ™ , it has a higher flow rate and still maintains a service temperature of 150 °C (302 °F). Tefzel ® 207 and the other Tefzel ® fluoropolymers are melt processible, modified copolymers of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene. They are high-performance resins that can be processed at relatively high rates compared with fluorocarbon resins. They are mechanically tough and offer an excellent balance of properties. The relatively high flow rate of Tefzel ® 207 makes it uniquely suitable for high-speed processing, especially for extruded coatings and injection molding of slender, thin-walled or intricate shapes. Properly processed products made from neat Tefzel ® 207 are inert to most solvents and chemicals, hydrolytically stable, and weather resistant. Recommended upper service temperature is 150°C (302°F); useful properties are retained at cryogenic ranges. The level and stability of dielectric properties are excellent and the flame rating is V-0 by the UL94 method. Mechanical properties include outstanding impact strength, cut-through, and abrasion resistance. Statements, or data, regarding behavior in a flame situation are not intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material when under actual fire conditions. Typical End Products Tefzel ® 207 is ideal for many end products, including electrical components such as sleeving, coil forms, sockets, connectors, and switches; lab ware such as tubing, valves, containers, and fasteners; battery or instrument components that require chemical inertness; and mechanical parts. The high melt flow rate of this product makes it ideal for injection molding and thin wall extrusion.
Tefzel® 2195 Asia Pacific
Tefzel ™ ETFE HT-2195 is a premium-grade fluoroplastic resin designed for use in rotational molding. To be effective as a rotational molding resin, Tefzel ™ ETFE HT-2195 is a free-flowing powder with controlled particle size, shape, and size distribution. The properties of Tefzel ® 2195 in molded form are similar to other grades of Tefzel ® fluoropolymer resin. Rotational molding is a favored process for making hollow parts (particularly large parts) or for parts with complex geometries. Depending on part design and processing conditions, Tefzel ® 2195 can also be used to rotoline items, whereby the Tefzel® binds to the inner surface of the part to form a lining. Properly processed rotational moldings made from Tefzel ® 2195 provide the superior properties typical of the fluoropolymer resins: retention of properties after service at 150°C (302°F), useful properties at -100°C (-148°F), and chemical inertness to most industrial chemicals and solvents. Molded products have excellent stiffness and high ultimate elongation. Statements, or data, regarding behavior in a flame situation are not intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material when under actual fire conditions. Typical End Products Tefzel ® 2195 is ideal for many end products for fluid handling in the chemical processing industries, including pump housings, vessels, columns, elbows, tees, and pipe sections with unusual shapes. In addition, any hollow structure with internal contours that permits uniform coating by powder flow is a candidate for lining, provided it can withstand high temperatures.
Tefzel® 750 Gas Igniter Asia Pacific
DuPont™ Tefzel ® fluoropolymer resins offer mechanical strength and toughness along with resistance to heat and chemicals. In addition, they provide easy processing, high specific dielectric strength, and a low coefficient of friction. For these reasons, Tefzel ® resins are widely used to make compact wire and cable constructions that provide long, reliable service in demanding environments. Tefzel ® 750 retains the traditional characteristics of Tefzel ® resins while providing some new property advantages, including increased flexibility and improved retention of properties after aging at elevated temperatures, higher limiting oxygen index, and long-term service life at higher temperatures than other Tefzel ® resins. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) has rated wire insulated with Tefzel ® 750 (10 mil for 600V, 6 mil for 300V) for service in appliances at a maximum continuous operating temperature of 200°C (392°F). This rating was determined under the guidelines of UL Subject 758 for appliance wiring material. Upper service temperatures for other applications should be determined under the guidelines for those applications. Temperature ratings may not be the same as the rating for appliance wire because the test procedures are different. Typical End Products Tefzel ™ ETFE 750 fluoroplastic resin can be used for wire service at up to 200 °C (392 °F).Tefzel ™ ETFE 750 can also be used as insulation for applications where customers need the basic benefits of Tefzel ™ together with increased flexibility and improved retention of properties after aging at elevated temperatures. Flexibility is desirable for ease of handling during maintenance and repair procedures.
