Phytessence™ Stevia GL is extracted from a perennial shrub belonging to the Aster family. It’s still found growing wild at the border between Brazil and Paraguay. Indigenous peoples used the leaves of Stevia as a sweetener which is 300-fold sweeter than cane sugar but calorie-free. Additionally, it was a traditional medicine for cardiovascular diseases among others. Stevia contains huge concentration of diterpenglycosides, about 96%, which are responsible for the sweetness.
Cosmetically, this product is recommended for use in moisturising creams, wellness products for all type skin for everyday-nourishing-care, after-sun care, after-shave products, shampoos for dry hair and scalp, anti-ageing creams, oral care, lip care and cosmetofood applications.
